Organizing Team

The Agile 2011 conference is created by a production team of highly respected Agile experts and practitioners to present a program that spans the whole spectrum of agile practice.

The Agile conference series is a organized as a program of the Agile Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to uncovering better ways of developing software inspired by the values and principles of the Manifesto for Agile Software Development. Todd Little

Conference Chair

Todd Little is a Sr. Development Manager for Landmark Graphics Corp. He has been involved in almost all aspects of software development with a focus on commercial software applications for oil and gas exploration and production.

He was involved early in the Agile conferences, working closely with Alistair Cockburn in starting the first Agile Development Conference in 2003.  He served as the Conference chair in 2004 before guiding the merger of ADC and XPAU to become Agile2005.  He continued one more year as the chair of Agile2006.  He has been on the Agile Alliance Board of Directors since 2004.

Along with Pollyanna Pixton, Niel Nickolaisen, and Kent McDonald, he is a co-author of the book “Stand Back and Deliver: Accelerating Business Agility,” Addison Wesley

Laurie Williams

Co-Program Chair

 Dr. Laurie Williams is an Associate Professor at North Carolina State University.  In 2001, she was one of the founders of the XP Universe conference, which merged with the Agile Development Conference to become the Agile 20xx conference.  She was program chair for XP Universe in 2001 and 2002.  Laurie has conducted several empirical studies on Extreme Programming and other agile development practices in particular pair programming and test-driven development.  Laurie is the lead author of Pair Programming Illuminated and a co-editor of Extreme Programming Perspectives.   Laurie received her undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, an MBA from Duke University, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah.  Prior to returning to academia to obtain her PhD, she worked at IBM for nine years. 

Kent McDonald

A business systems coach with more than a decade of experience, Kent McDonald has successfully guided projects and designed business solutions in the financial services, health insurance, performance marketing, human services, non-profit, and automotive industries. His background includes delivering data-intensive and Web-enabled application development projects that provide outstanding business value. He has coached client staff to help teams reach project goals more productively and effectively. Kent is a sought after speaker, writer, and coach on project leadership, business analysis, and delivering business value through projects.  He is a founder and past President of the APLN.
